How We Compare Eyewear Retailers
Editorial framework updated: July 2026
Our Evaluation Framework
We organize public information into repeatable decision fields. We do not turn those fields into an unsupported score or imply hands-on experience.
- Listing details โ Frame dimensions, material, available lens types and the retailer's stated product features.
- Configured quote โ The same prescription, lens material, treatments and delivery destination at each retailer.
- Policy terms โ Shipping, returns, custom-lens exclusions, remake process, warranty and refund method.
- Fit checkpoints โ Comparison with a known comfortable frame; virtual tools are treated as previews, not proof of fit.
- Evidence boundary โ Retailer claims are attributed, time-sensitive details require checkout verification, and unknowns remain unknown.
How We Build a Comparison
Each comparison follows a source-led process:
- Capture โ Record the retailer or manufacturer page and the date a time-sensitive detail was checked.
- Normalize โ Compare like-for-like prescription and lens configurations rather than advertised starting prices.
- Separate โ Keep published specifications, calculations, editorial guidance and unknowns clearly distinct.
- Publish โ State limitations and direct readers to recheck the live listing and policy before payment.
Decision Fields, Not Scores
A single number hides important differences between prescriptions, destinations and policies. Our comparison pages therefore use explicit fields:
Fit data: dimensions and measurement limits.
Configured cost: the complete quote for one defined prescription.
Policy: shipping, returns, remakes, warranty and exclusions.
Decision use: the question a listing helps answer, without declaring a universal winner.
Why Trust Our Reviews
- We do not claim purchases, samples or hands-on tests without a retained evidence record
- The same listing, quote and policy fields are used across retailer comparisons
- Affiliate relationships are disclosed and do not create a score or paid placement
- Unknown or unsupported details are removed, qualified or marked for verification
- We disclose every revenue source on our Disclosure page
